6th Annual Rainier Beach Grill Off 2026

Join us for the 6th annual Rainier Beach Grill Off and show us why you’re the best in the beach.

So you think you're a Grillmaster, huh? PROVE IT! Come showcase your mad grill skillz on Thursday, Aug 20th at Be'er Sheva Park!

The party kicks off at 5 PM and the Judging begins at 6:30 PM.

Grocery gifts cards are available for contestants.

Prizes include:

1st Prize $400
2nd Prize $300
3rd Prize $200

It’s a celebration of the community with free food and good vibes.

All are welcome.

COOKING

• There are 5 grills onsite, first come first serve.  Bring your own grill, or if you need one indicate that below.  Limited grills available

• Grilled meat only, NO SIDES, NO SAUCES served on the side. Sauces can be on the meat only.  Grilling must be done on site. 

• Food must be ready by 6:30 pm. Food must be prepared and submitted by 6:30 PM for judging.

• Provide tasting samples for five judges. Each entry should fit in 3 oz container provided by event organizers. Meat only for judging, NO SIDES. It’s great if you would like to make more food to share with people, but definitely not required. *We will be serving food for community members.

• Keep it clean. Ensure your team's assigned cooking space is kept clean during and following the contest. Plastic food service gloves and a small bucket with sanitation related supplies will be provided to each team.

JUDGING

• A blind judging process will be utilized to determine winners: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Judges will perform blind judging under the guidance of a L2L community judging coordinator.

• All scores that are given by judges will be used to determine winners. Scoring will carry equal weight values for the four categories of judging for each entry: Appearance, Taste, Tenderness, and Overall Impression. Scores will range from 5 (best) to 1 (worst). Total points in each category will determine the winner for each entry. 

• Winners will be announced between 7:30-8 pm by the DJ booth. 1st place winner will receive $400 Visa gift card & will be crowned “2026 Rainier Beach Grillmaster!” Winners pictures will be added to a banner in the park, from 2025-2026. 2nd place=$300, 3rd place=$200
